08/07/2015 - Exceptional concert in Brussels with Roy Hargrove quintet
Grammy award winner Roy Hargrove, headlining the North Sea Jazz Festival 2015, did us the honor of his visit in Brussels. An emblematic figure of jazz, he managed to extend his popularity far beyond this genre, deservedly attaining critical and commercial star status. He won Grammy’s with the Afro-Cuban project ‘Crisol’ and ‘Directions in Music’ (with Herbie Hancock and Michael Brecker), but also pioneered with the funky nu-jazz of the RH Factor (‘Hard Groove’ & ‘Distractions’).
Born into a family of artists and intellectuals - he is the nephew of
the great Lebanese writer Amin Maalouf - Ibrahim Maalouf is back centre
stage with his new album, Illusions, which has been won the "best
world music album" award at the Victoires de la Musique 2014.
